Race procedure; 7 lap heat races – 30 lap feature races – Starts and restarts double file – The drivers that finish 1st and 2nd will start 10th and 11th the next race they enter – Any car/driver that wins 3 consecutive races will start in last place the next feature race they enter.

Speedway officials may check any part of car, at any time without paying a protest fee. The driver may protest any car that finished in front of him Protest fee  $250.00  top side of engine. Track fee $75   Protest time  within 5 minutes following display of checkered  flag. Items that may be checked, carburetor, restrictor & spacer plate, intake, cylinder head, valve springs cam & lift at valve "as is" when valve cover is removed, bore & stroke. (A Crate engine may be protested and inspected and engine disassembled the same as a FMS built engine)  Clutch protest fee $100 .  A crate engine camshaft may be sent to a cam specialist to verify that the camshaft has not been reground from it’s OEM crate specifications.      

Visual protest  $25 per item 20 minutes before heat race or time trial.

Protest fee for top & bottom of engine, and clutch, $500, track fee $100. Crank shaft removal fee additional $200

CAR & Weight; Any  1968 through 2007. Minimum 102” wheel base. After market built FMS engine minimum

weight  3200  pounds with driver, after the  race.  Right side weight 44 %. You  may  gas up  after the  race! All drivers must be  14 years of age or older, and have a Speedway license. (See wt. rule under frame rule below)

 

CRATE ENGINE; Cars with a GM 602 Crate engine  3200 lbs. and 44% right  side.

 

ENGINE LOCATION

Engine must be centered in chassis and center of # 1 spark plug hole in line with upper ball joint. Type of engine    mounts optional.

CAMSHAFT FMS ENGINE

Hydraulic or flat tappet cam; max lift "at valve" .480 intake and exhaust. Ford .512 – Dodge  .500

HEADERS

Headers permitted. No step or 180 headers. No “H” pipes.

OIL PAN

Enlarged oil pans permitted. Oil pan 4" ground clearance.

ENGINE

350 C.I. FMS engine.. 060 maximum overbore. OEM or OEM replacement flat top pistons

OEM type 350 steel or cast crankshaft. Scatt, Eagle after market crankshafts allowed , All Crankshafts Minimum Weight, 52 lbs. No grinding or machining, may weld or drill minimal number of holes for balancing only. OEM stock length replacement after market rods allowed, rod  weight must not be lighter than OEM stock  rods. No grinding or polishing.

Cylinder heads must be stock cast iron for make of engine, minimum 70 cc.  No modifications allowed! No grinding,  polishing, port matching, glass beading etc. No angle milling, Roller rocker arms any ratio, polly locks allowed. Screw  in stubs and guide plates allowed. OEM valve size required. Two angels above seat, one angle plus factory angle below the seat, do not blend, bevel or radius end of cut below valve seat. OEM diameter valve springs. Steel valve spring retainers required.

Intake; No high performance intake manifolds permitted.

Cast iron two barrel intake or Edelbrock Performer 2101 aluminum intake.

All intake manifolds must be approved by Speedway. No modifications allowed!  No grinding, polishing, port matching or glass beading.

ANY DRIVER THAT REFUSES TO ALLOW HIS CAR TO BE INSPECTED WILL FORFEIT ALL

POINTS AND PRIZE MONEY FOR THE EVENT DURING TEC. INSPECTION OF ANY CAR, ANY PARTS THAT ARE DETERMINED TO BE ILLEGAL, THE PARTS WILL BE GIVEN TO THE TEC. OFFICIAL IN THE SAME CONDITION AS THE PARTS WERE USED ON THE CAR. THE DRIVER OR ANYONE ASSOCIATED WITH THE DRIVER THAT DAMAGES ANY ILLEGAL PART THE DRIVER WILL BE SUSPENDED FOR ONE ( 1 ) YEAR AND A $1000 FINE.

        FUEL PUMP

No electric fuel pumps allowed.

WATER PUMP & PULLEYS

OEM steel or aluminum water pump.

            Any water pump crankshaft  pulley combination may be used.

            CARBURETOR, SPACER & RESTRICTOR PLATE

Automobile type Rochester two barrel carburetor no grinding, reaming or enlarging of the OEM stock  ventura or   throttle bore. No parts switching from one size carburetor to another. Or a Speedway  approved Holley 350 7448 carburetor.  A  maximum 1” thick aluminum spacer plate with one or two holes centered in  plate with straight cut, no bevel or angle cut. Maximum .065 thick gasket, (1) between  spacer and carburetor and (1) between intake and spacer plate.   

A 1&1/4"( 1.250”) Restrictor plate is required on all FMS built engines with a Rochester carburetor.       

No Restrictor Plate is required on a Holly 350 7448 carburetor equipped engine.

GM  602 Crate engine MUST use a Holley 7448,350 cfm carburetor without  a restrictor plate. ( Note 603   crate engine equipped car 3300 lbs. and 45% rt. side weight and a Holly 7448 – 350 carb.

AIR CLEANER AND AIR FILTER

Only approved round air cleaner. An approved complete element - minimum 1 ½ “ - maximum 4 inches high, must be used in the air cleaner housing at all times. All air shall be filtered through element. Top of air cleaner must be solid, no holes. No cold air boxes or cowl induction. No ducts or baffles on or leading to air cleaner

IGNITION

            Electronic ignition permitted on all models (OEM factory only) No MSD ignitions.

            No after market distributors permitted.

            Racing coils permitted such as Accell, MSD, etc.        

            FLY WHEEL  and CLUTCH ASSEMBLY

            OEM type flywheel and clutch assembly.. Minimum clutch and flywheel  assembly weight 33#

            No grinding or machining to lighten flywheel. Protest fee  $100

             TRANSMISSIONS & Driveshaft

             OEM Automatic or manual transmissions. All gears must work. Driveshaft must be steel and painted white

             REAR ENDS

            May be interchanged between manufacturer: i.e. Ford in Chevrolet, Chevrolet in Ford,  (Ford floater type ok). any ratio. May be locked, Only a Standard Ratchet  permitted. No quick change rear ends allowed.

             SPRINGS

            After market springs permitted. Coil springs minimum 4" o.d. Spring spacers and screw jacks allowed

              Shocks

            After market steel non rebuildable shocks required. 

              Fame Rails , "A" Frames, Steering & Suspension Parts

No shortening or altering. Front sub Frame must be OEM stock . Round Tubing frame connectors allowed. O E M Stock bottom “A” frames  Fabricated upper 'A' frames ok.  OEM Stock steering & spindles.

Lower trailing arms may be rectangular tubing with  rubber or metal bushings maximum length 28”. A fabricated steel top link and track bar allowed.  ( Any car with 2”x 3” tubing frame rails from the end of the front sub frame to rear of car must weigh 3300 lbs total weight and 45 % right side with a crate engine and 3300 lbs. total weight and 45 % right side with a FMS engine).

WHEELS

             Steel maximum width ten 10."

TIRES

All  tires  must be  B F GOODRICH RADIALS  purchased for your car and  branded by FMS official each race. No treatment  of any  kind allowed.

FUEL

            Pump gas or  Speedway racing fuel only. No mixtures of any kind. You may gas up after the race.

FUEL CELL

Fuel cell recommended. All fuel tanks must be vented high and to the left side

STARTER & BATTERY

            OEM type starter.. Only one 12v battery permitted.

RADIATOR & ANTIFREEZE

Any radiator  allowed, copper or aluminum. Antifreeze not allowed, $200 fine. All cars should have a overflow hose to the right rear corner of race

BRAKES

Disc brakes permitted  Stock OEM only. All four wheels must work!  Dual master cylinders allowed. Brake bias adjusters allowed under hood.

BODIES

Stock appearing or speedway approved modified body. May use metal after market body, nose piece and rear bumper cover.  Hood,& Roof steel or fiberglass. Hood must fit to  windshield. Dash may be removed and replaced with sheet metal. Front fender panels may be removed All body holes must be closed in, front and rear, with solid metal and painted.

            Rear view mirror permitted (inside car only)

GROUND CLEARANCE

Minimum chassis ground clearance 5".  "Nose piece and rocker panels min. 4" ground clearance.

            WINDOWS 

Back window (optional) No side windows. 

            A windshield of glass, lexan or Ό” metal mesh screen required.

 SPOILERS

            Lexan or aluminum spoilers.  5" high max. Width of deck lid -must be self supporting.

BUMPERS

            Bumpers must look stock. May use after market bumper covers.

            Bracing is allowed behind bumper only.  Nothing above bumper or outside of grill.

            Must have hook on front and rear of car to allow wrecker to lift car.

Modified body cars  inside  rub rails allowed, see tec official for specs.

Full roll cage required.  Bars may go through front and rear firewall.

Roll bars in driver area must have roll bar padding installed.         

WHEEL BASE &TREAD WIDTH

            Wheel base, minimum 102".   Tread width maximum 66"

SAFETY EQUIPMENT

            All cars must have seat belts.

            All cars must have shoulder harness.

            Safety belts must be fastened to seat frame.

            All drivers Must have a racing helmet on any time you are on the race track..

            All drivers must wear a driving suit made of or treated with some type of fire retardant material or long

sleeved shirt and long pants..

            Window net required.

Any car that does not meet the minimum or maximum Speedway specifications may be allowed to participate with a weight penalty. The car may not be protested for any item that a penalty weight was imposed.
