Race
procedure; 12 lap feature event races – Starts and restarts will be double
file. Each race the complete finishing order of the just completed race will be
inverted for the next race you enter. If you miss a race, when you return you
will start your inverted position from the race you missed. Any driver that
drives over aggressively such as, running into the side or rear of a competitors
car, spinning a competitor out , intentional rough driving will be disqualified
from future events. Any driver, parent, family member, friend or pit crew
member associated with the driver that acts in any unsportsmanlike manner such as
a disturbance, threats, fowl language, vulgar actions, going into another pit
area, etc. and directed toward other drivers and their crew or family The
driver will be suspended from competing in any future races at FMS. Safety
for the driver is the most important part of the Young Guns class. Second, learning
to drive a car in a controlled race and following instructions and discipline
of the driver is the requirement to enter any race at FMS.
Any
car/driver that out classes other cars/drivers or is superior in speed and
handling may be required to install a
restrictor plate on the carburetor or fuel injection system to create competition. A reminder, this is a class to
learn how to drive a car in a safe controlled race andpass other cars without
running into or wrecking a competitor.
1 Speedway
officials may check any part of any car at any time without a protest fee.
A car and engine OEM specification manual must
be available for your car to the FMS tec official
2. Competing
models : 1985 through 2007 Four cylinder front or rear wheel drive OEM completely
stock
No Turbo Charged Engines
No Dual Overhead Cams Engines
No Headers
Driver and passenger inner door panels may be removed for roll bar
installation.
3. CARBURETOR or FUEL
INJECTION: Only OEM Stock for make
and model. No modifications. No spacers
or adapters. No after market modified
carburetors or injectors.
4. COOLING SYSTEM: OEM type copper or aluminum radiator. Electric
fan allowed.
5. ELECTRICAL
SYSTEM: Electronic or point type battery fired ignition.
OEM type coil. Only one battery; must be securely mounted in original location. All cars must have
self starter in good working order.
6 FUEL TANK: OEM Stock fuel tank in OEM stock location. There must
be a metal firewall sealing off the fuel tank from the driver's compartment Fuel Cell Recommended.

8 . A wind shield of glass, lexan or ¼” mesh screen is required. Side quarter glass and rear window optional. Driver and passenger door glass must be removed. All front, side and rear lights must be removed or covered with tape. Trunk floors must be complete and must have wheel wells. All firewall holes, fore and aft, and floor holes must be covered with metal patch. All doors must be welded or bolted. Hood must have hood pins. Quick release steering wheel allowed.
All cars will be allowed to use a OEM stock or aluminum non-adjustable
rear spoiler, maximum Height:
four (4) inches, self supporting.
Maximum Width: No wider
than standard deck lid.
9. SUSPENSION
& STEERING: Coil spring spacers
allowed. No screw jacks allowed. OEM type shocks & struts required. Stock
steering only. OEM type coil
springs required.
Front suspension may have caster and camber modifications or slots
Brake and clutch pedals may be modified to fit
driver
10. TRANSMISSION
& REAR END: OEM rear end, may be
locked. OEM Stock three, four, five speed or automatic transmission..
Transmissions and rear end must remain in stock position. OEM automatic
transmission or clutch and steel flywheel. required. No lightened fly wheels
allowed.
11. WHEELS & BRAKES: Wheels 7" maximum width. OEM Stock brakes in good
working order required on all four
wheels. All (4) four wheels must be
same size and have same off set left , right , front and rear. Emergency brake may be removed.
12. TREAD
WIDTH: OEM stock
13. TIRES: Street radial DOT treaded or FMS
Stk 4, tires. Max; 215 - 60 – 13", 14" OR 15”
14. NO RADIOS ALLOWED

ROLL BARS; Full cage is required
with four uprights and four top bars. Minimum of (3) bars in drivers
and (3) in passengers
door. Roll bars must have padding.
16. SEAT& SEAT
BELTS; ALUMINUM RACING SEAT THAT FITS THE DRIVER IS REQUIRED.
SAFETY BELTS; LAP , SHOULDER AND SUB BELT REQUIRED.
A WINDOW NET IS REQUIRED.
17. HELMENT; A RACING HELMENT IS REQUIRED.
FIRE
RETARDENT DRIVER UNIFORM REQUIRED.
NECK BRACE
OR HUTCHENS DEVICE REQUIRED.
FIRE RETARDANT RACING GLOVES REQUIRED.
A FIRE EXTINGUSHER IN DRIVERS
COMPARTMENT REQUIRED.
18. Minimum age of any driver is (12) years of
age through 16 yrs of age. Proof of
age required
19.
MINORS RELEASE &
LICENSE; BOTH PARENTS OF EACH MINOR DRIVER MUST APPLY FOR
ENTERS THE PIT AREA OR GOES ONTO THE RACE TRACK.
20. Numbers must
be on each door a minimum of 18” tall. A 4” number must be on right top corner
of
windshield. Drivers name must be on roof above
top of each door.
21. No
alcohol or tobacco sponsors or offensive
words or logos allowed
