Race procedure for weekly races; 7 Lap heat races – 30 lap feature races - Starts and restarts double file - The drivers that finish 1st and 2nd will start 10th and 11th the next race he/she enters. Any car/driver that wins 3 races consecutive races will start in last place of the feature race.

 

GET A COPY OF THE GENERAL RULES AS THEY APPLY TO THE STREET STOCK CLASS

FMS officials may check any part of any car, at any time, without paying a protest fee. A driver may protest any car that finishes the race in front of their car. The car/driver protested may back protest the car/driver that protested his/her car. If the protested car is legal the track fee will be paid out of the protest fee. If the car is illegal the illegal car/driver will pay the track fee. Protest fee for checking top of engine will be $250. There is a $50 track fee Protest bottom & top of engine fee is $400 There is a $75 track fee. Protest time: 5 minutes following end of race. (A crate engine may be protested and inspected and engine dissembled the same as a FMS built engine) A crate engine camshaft may be sent to a cam specialist to verify that the camshaft has not been reground from it’s OEM crate specifications.

 

CAR; Any 1968 through 2007 models.

 

Weight; FMS engine Minimum total weight 3200 lbs. with driver, before & after race. Minimum .Right side weight, before & after race, with driver 48%. You may gas up after the race. All drivers must be 14 years of age or older, and have a Speedway license. Proof of age required.

 

THE GM CRATE ENGINE 88958602 IS ALLOWED AS SUPPLIED FROM GM .TOTAL WEIGHT 3200 lbs. AND 48% RIGHT SIDE.

FMS ENGINE;

Must be OEM stock, in stock location , left to right , front to rear..

Hydraulic cam only; max lift at valve ( May be checked with a solid lifter) .480 intake and exhaust.

Enlarged bottom sump OEM oil pans permitted.

Any C.I. OEM stock engine. Stock OEM fuel pumps..

Stock OEM steel water pump

Any water pump, crankshaft, and pulley combination may be used.

OEM stock or OEM replacement parts for OEM Including cylinder heads, pistons, crankshaft, & rods. After market std. wt. two eyebrow pistons allowed

Cylinder Heads must be stock for make of engine, minimum Chev.70 cc. Ford 68 cc No modifications allowed No grinding, polishing, port matching, or glass beading. No cutting head for larger valve springs. Stock OEM diameter valve springs. Steel valve spring retainers.

Polly locks permitted. OEM stock rocker arms with OEM stock ratio rocker arms.

Studs in head may be pinned, screw in OEM stubs and guide plates permitted.

Maximum O.E.M.valve size 1.940 intake / 1.500 exhaust

INTAKE FMS ENGINE

OEM cast iron intake or a 2101 Performer. No grinding, polishing, port matching, glass beading .

CARBURETOR & RESTRICTOR PLATE FMS ENGINE

OEM stock two barrel Rochester carburetor with a 1-11/16” throttle bore with no modifications, standard boosters required. A Maximum 1” thick aluminum spacer with 1 or 2 holes centered in spacer, straight cut. Two gaskets maximum .065 thick with a 1.250” 1&1/4”Restrictor plate, Or a FMS approved Holly 7448 – 350 CFM carburetor with out a restrictor plate on a FMS engine.

GM 602 Crate engine must use a HOLLEY 7448 350 CFM with out a restrictor plate.

EXHAUST

Standard Headers allowed. No step type headers, No 180 or cross over headers. No H pipes. Cast iron exhaust manifolds allowed. Exhaust pipes must be same size from collector to end of pipe and run past driver

AIR CLEANER AND AIR FILTER

Only approved round air cleaner. An approved complete dry element - minimum 1 ½ “ maximum 4 inches high, must be used in the air cleaner at all times. All air shall be filtered through element. Top of air cleaner must be solid, no holes. No cold air boxes or cowl induction .No ducts or baffles on or leading to air cleaner. .

 

IGNITION

Electronic distributor permitted (OEM factory only no boosters )

A racing coil permitted such as Accell, MSD, etc.

 

FLY WHEEL ASSEMBLY

OEM Stock Type fly wheel & clutch assembly. No grinding or lightning or machining allowed. Min. wt. 33 # A steel scatter shield or steel bell housing required

 

TRANSMISSIONS

Automatic or standard transmissions (OEM stock only). With all gears working.

 

REAR ENDS

May be interchanged between manufacturer: i.e. Ford in Chevrolet, Chevrolet in Ford. May be locked.

No ratchets, Rear end hook up must be O E M stock .

 

SPRINGS

All cars must compete with type of springs from OEM. If coil ,must be coil. If leaf, it must be leaf.

Adjustable rear spring hangers and screw jacks allowed. After market racing springs allowed

 

SHOCKS

Steel stock appearing steel shocks required. Must mount in original location.

 

FRAME RAILS

No shortening or altering in any way.

No tubing frame connectors allowed.. OEM Stock top and bottom “A” frames for make of car.

 

SPINDLES

Stock OEM

 

SWAY BAR

OEM type or aftermarket . Adjustable links allowed.

 

WHEELS

Maximum width eight inches( 8")

 

TIRES

B F GOODRICH USED RADIALS Purchased from FMS by You for Your car with F.M.S. I D. on all 4 tires each race.

 

FUEL

Pump gas or Speedway gas only. You may gas up after your race. No mixtures of any kind.

 

FUEL CELL

Fuel cell recommended.

All fuel tanks must be vented high and to the left side frame.

 

STARTER

OEM Starter

Only one 12v battery permitted.

 

RADIATOR

Any radiator allowed copper or aluminum. No anti freeze $200.00 fine

All cars must have a rubber overflow hose to the right rear corner of race car, angled toward ground.

 

BRAKES

OEM brakes. dual master cylinders allowed. No remote brake adjusters allowed

After market clutch and brake pedals allowed.

BODIES

Stock appearing show room stock.

Body must be in original position on frame.

Hood and doors may be hulled. No holes or louvers in hood or trunk.

Dash may be removed.

Front fender inner panels may be removed.

All glass except windshield and flammable material must be removed. Windshield glass, lexan or ¼” metal hardware cloth.

Doors must be welded or bolted shut.

Must have grill.

All body holes must be closed in, front and rear, with solid metal and painted color of car.

Rear view mirror permitted (inside car only)

Minimum ground clearance 5". frame and body

 

SPOILERS

Lexan or aluminum spoilers. 5" high max. Width of deck lid -must be self supporting.

 

BUMPERS

Bumpers must look stock. (After market bumper covers allowed)

Bracing is allowed behind bumper only. Nothing above bumper, outside of grill.

Must have hook on front and rear of car to allow wrecker to lift car.

 

ROLL BARS

Full roll cage required.

Bars may go through front and rear firewall.

All roll bars in driver area must have roll bar padding installed.

 

WHEEL BASE

Wheel base must be stock from factory, minimum 101”

 

TREAD WIDTH

Maximum tread width front and rear 66”.

 

SAFETY EQUIPMENT

All cars must have seat belts.

All cars must have shoulder harness.

All cars must have Safety belts fastened to seat frame.

All drivers Must wear a racing helmet anytime you are on the race track..

All drivers must wear a fire retardant driving uniform or long sleeved shirt and long pants when driving a race car.

Window net required.
